CMS has released Medicare Advantage star ratings for 2019 and found that the majority of Medicare Advantage health plans earn four or more stars and are easily accessible to Medicare beneficiaries. So when you’re considering a new Medicare plan, it’s a good idea to review Medicare’s ratings to compare health plans. The ratings are updated every fall. Star ratings can be found using Medicare’s Plan Finder tool or by calling 1-800-MEDICARE. New plan quality ratings come out each October and apply to the next calendar year (for example, plan ratings for 2018 will be available in October 2017).
